Central Railway Organizes Heritage Museum Tour for Cancer-Stricken Children

Mumbai : In celebration of International Museum Day, Central Railway opened the doors of its Heritage Museum at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) to 29 young warriors battling cancer from Tata Memorial Hospital. This special guided tour aimed to bring joy and inspiration to the children, offering them a memorable and educational experience.

On invitation from Central Railway, the children aged from 8 years to 14 years, all undergoing treatment for cancer, were introduced to the rich history and legacy of Indian Railways. Mr. Xavier, the museum guide, captivated the children with engaging stories and fascinating facts about the artifacts on display. The inquisitive young visitors enthusiastically participated, asked numerous questions, and showed great interest in the railway’s historical treasures. This memorable event was organized for the first time by the Chief Public Relations Office of Central Railway to showcase its rich history and heritage to children from Tata Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Swapnil Nila, Chief Public Relations Officer, Central Railway, along with Mr. A. K. Jain, Deputy Chief Public Relations Officer, Central Railway, presented the children with memorabilia to commemorate their visit. They were joined by Mr. Santosh Sherwade, Deputy Administrative Officer (PR), and Mrs. Swati Mhatre, Public Relations Officer, who accompanied the children throughout the visit.

Central Railway is honored to have hosted these brave children and hopes this visit provided them with an exciting and insightful experience. Events like this also underscore Central Railway’s commitment to community engagement.
