Kokan divisional sports and cultural competition 2024
Ratnagiri : In the last three days, the concluding ceremony of the Kokan divisional sports and cultural competition held in Ratnagiri took place. The district of Ratnagiri was honored with the title of the host for the event, and the runner-up position was awarded to the Mumbai suburban district.
At the prize distribution ceremony led by the Divisional Commissioner Dr. Mahendra Kalyankar, Ratnagiri district was acclaimed as the standard-bearer for the overall and cultural competition winners, while the runner-up position went to the Mumbai suburban district.
During the guidance session, Commissioner Dr. Kalyankar emphasized the need for positive competition. Ratnagiri secured 368 points and emerged victorious in various categories. The administrative perspective also acknowledges the Kokan division’s progress.
District Collector M. Devendra Singh, Police Commissioner Dhananjay Kulkarni, and Chief Executive Officer Kirti Kiran Pujar were present at the ceremony. Dr. Kalyankar mentioned that the upcoming year’s competition will commence with the selection of players from the preliminary round.
Looking ahead, next year’s competition will take place in Sindhudurg district. Dr. Kalyankar handed over the sports flag to Sindhudurg district symbolizing the responsibility.
District Collector Singh stated that everyone worked hard for this competition. Players dedicated themselves to the competition, and cultural programs were well-executed. The team spirit was commendable, and everyone displayed excellent performances. He encouraged everyone to maintain good health and stay joyful.
