Khed, Ratnagiri: Raghuveer Ghat, a popular tourist destination and vital link between Ratnagiri and Satara districts, is once again in the news for all the wrong reasons. After two recent landslide incidents, a section of the road in the ghat collapsed on Friday, though traffic currently remains open.
Just hours after the debris from a previous landslide was cleared, a portion of the road in Raghuveer Ghat, connecting Satara district to Khed taluka, caved in on Friday morning.
“Given the ghat’s importance for tourism, the construction department needs to learn from past incidents and implement permanent measures by building protective barriers at dangerous spots in the ghat.”

Raghuveer Ghat, a scenic pass in Khed taluka, has become a favorite among tourists, especially for monsoon tourism, in recent years. However, a series of recurring landslides and road collapses over the past few years have raised significant concerns among both tourists and residents of the Kandati Valley.
