- Second disruption in four days for Konkan Railway traffic
Khed : On Sunday evening around 5 PM, a landslide between Vinhere and Diwankhavti disrupted the Konkan Railway’s operations for the second time in four days. Just four days earlier, rail traffic was halted due to water entering the tunnel at Pedne in Goa.
While the district was experiencing heavy rainfall, a landslide occurred on the railway tracks near a tunnel between Vinhere and Diwankhavti stations on Sunday evening around 4.48 PM. Upon receiving the information, the railway’s machinery was dispatched to the site.
Meanwhile, due to the landslide, the down Netravati Express, traveling from Mumbai to Trivandrum, was halted at Karanjadi station, and the up Mandovi Express, traveling from Goa to Mumbai, was stopped at Khed. Following this, the Jan Shatabdi Express traveling to Mumbai and the Madgaon-Mumbai Tejas Express were also halted at Ratnagiri station.
