Ratnagiri : Train services on the Konkan Railway route, which were disrupted for approximately 18 hours due to significant water seepage alongside the tracks in the tunnel at Perneme, have been restored. The rail traffic resumed after a Track Fitness Certificate (TFC) was obtained at 8:35 PM on Wednesday, thanks to the relentless efforts of over a hundred laborers, 25 supervisors, chief engineers, and national as well as international consultants.

The Konkan Railway had halted services from early Wednesday morning due to the heavy rains causing large amounts of muddy water to seep alongside the tracks between Madure and Pedne.

Following the issue in the tunnel at Pernem, Mr. Santosh Kumar Jha, the Chairman and Managing Director of Konkan Railway, immediately rushed to the site. While efforts to restore the disrupted service were underway on a war footing, train operations resumed after obtaining the Track Fitness Certificate (TFC) at 8:35 PM on Wednesday, as reported by Konkan Railway.
