LHB Rakes
Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coach is a passenger coach developed by Linke-Hofmann-Busch of Germany. It has been adopted by Indian Railways and produced by rail coach manufacturing units at Kapurthala, Chennai and Raebareli.
It has multiple advantages over the conventional ICF rakes such as :
• Lighter and Longer than ICF coaches
• Better Speed
• Safer ( They do not climb on the adjacent coach in case of derailment)
• Enhanced seating capacity
• Fitted with Bio Toilets
• Efficient braking at higher speeds
• Better air conditioning
• Economical and low maintenance cost
Replacement of ICF coaches with LHB coaches is another step by Railways towards providing better travelling experience to its passengers.
