Konkan Railway to Run Additional Trains Between Mumbai and Sawantwadi

Mumbai: To accommodate the surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming Ganpati Festival 2026, Konkan Railway, in coordination with Central Railway, has decided to operate additional special trains between Mumbai CSMT and Sawantwadi Road.
This initiative is a relief for many travelers heading to the Konkan region for the festivities. As per the official press release, the details of the special trains are as follows:
Train No. 01009 / 01010 Mumbai CSMT – Sawantwadi Road – Mumbai CSMT Special:
- Train No. 01009 Mumbai CSMT – Sawantwadi Road Special:
- Leaves from Mumbai CSMT at 13:45 hrs on September 19, 2026, and September 26, 2026.
- Reaches Sawantwadi Road at 03:00 hrs on the next day.
- Train No. 01010 Sawantwadi Road – Mumbai CSMT Special:
- Leaves from Sawantwadi Road at 04:05 hrs on September 20, 2026, and September 27, 2026.
- Reaches Mumbai CSMT at 18:15 hrs on the same day.
List of Halts:
The special trains will halt at the following stations: Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Pen, Roha, Mangaon, Veer, Karanjadi, Khed, Chiplun, Sawarda, Aravali Road, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Vilavade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Nandgaon Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, and Zarap.
Train Composition:
The train will consist of a total of 22 coaches, including 2 AC 3-Tier coaches, 12 Sleeper coaches, 6 General coaches, and 2 SLR/D coaches.
