Khed (Ratnagiri ) : Following incessant heavy rainfall, a massive landslide occurred in the Kashedi Ghat section near Khavati (close to the Kashedi Tunnel) on the Mumbai-Goa National Highway. The debris has completely halted traffic on both sides of the highway, creating long vehicular queues. Debris clearance operations are currently being carried out on a war footing.

​House of Krishna Jadhav At Risk; 3 Family Members Rescued

​The landslide has directly impacted residential safety in the area. A massive chunk of mud and rocks came down crashing right next to the house of a local resident, Krishna Babu Jadhav, posing an immediate threat to the structure. Acting swiftly on safety parameters, local authorities have safely evacuated 3 members of the Jadhav family and shifted them to a secure location.

​Authorities Urge Commuters to Avoid Route

​Highway police, disaster management cells, and local administrative teams are present at the spot, deployed with heavy machinery like JCBs to clear the road. Due to continuous rainfall and risk of further shifting of land, the administration has urged commuters to avoid travelling through the Kashedi Ghat route unless absolutely necessary.
