- Marathvada Railway Passenger Association Writes to DRM & CPTM
Nande/ratnagiri : Following the overwhelming response to the special train run during the recent Ganesh Festival, the marathvada Railway Passenger Association has urged South Central Railway (SCR) to introduce a permanent weekly express train between Nanded and Sawantwadi.
A formal representation/letter has been submitted to the Division Railway Manager (DRM), Nanded, and the Chief Passenger Transportation Manager (CPTM), Secunderabad.
Key Highlights of the Representation:
- Successful Festival Special Run: For the first time during the recent Ganesh Chaturthi festival, a direct special train was operated from Nanded to Sawantwadi, benefiting thousands of commuters.
- Direct Connectivity to Konkan: The association emphasized that a permanent weekly train service will establish direct rail connectivity between the Marathwada and Konkan regions.
- Boost to Tourism and Business: Regular train operations on this route will significantly ease travel for pilgrims, tourists, and traders, strengthening socio-economic ties between both regions.
