Focus on Safety Measures and Better Roads

Raghuveer Ghat is highly popular among tourists for its breathtaking valley views, but it requires significant infrastructure upgrades to handle heavy monsoon traffic safely. The key demands highlighted in the memorandum include:

  • Infrastructure Upgrades: Immediate widening and concretization of the entire ghat stretch to ensure smooth vehicular movement.
  • Commuter Safety: Installation of sturdy protective walls, retaining walls, and safety barricades along accident-prone curves.
  • Tourism Development: Setting up dedicated view points, organized parking spaces, public restrooms, and other essential tourist amenities.

PWD Minister Assures Swift Action

Responding positively to the proposal, PWD Minister Shivendrasinhraje Bhosale acknowledged the strategic and economic importance of Raghuveer Ghat for Ratnagiri’s tourism sector. The Minister assured MLA Pramod Jathar that the PWD department would thoroughly review the proposal on priority and take the necessary executive steps to sanction the required funds.
